The Friday Photo: Little Fluffy Clouds
Remember that song by The Orb — Little Fluffy Clouds?
No?
Wayull, this shot from our big road trip to Australia’s Red Centre kind of sums it up for me.
Today’s chilly and grey in Kunming, China, I’ve just had my wallet nicked, and, all in all, it really cheers me up. Happy weekend!
New here? For more Australian pics, go see Sunrise at Uluru, some loony shots from Coober Pedy or a 50s retro town-cum-missile park.
And, if you’re hoping, as I hope, to get better at photography, I highly recommend an ebook called Getting Out of Auto. If you’re baffled by ISO, shutter speed and aperture, this book explains it so easily that a child could understand it. I’m an affiliate, which means if you like the look of it and buy it here, you’ve just bought me a coffee.
This would cheer anyone up! I love the expanse of nothingness…very soothing. Sorry to hear about your wallet.
Well, in the grand scheme of things a wallet is absolutely nothing, Traci. Did loom rather large yesterday evening…
Evil wallet thieves! Lovely photo. Grey in London too, after our beautiful, late 1 week of summer!
Evil wallet thieves indeed! And foolish wallet carrier… At least it will be summer in in NZ, right?
These are what I call “Simpsons” clouds, like in the opening sequence of The Simpsons… 🙂
YES! They’re totally Simpsons clouds…
Sorry to hear about the wallet.
I’m amazed at how little growth there is … all the rain we’ve had recently has made the desert spring to life.
Well, this was January. But still very dry, even though there were Sturt’s desert peas in the centre — and rain at Alice Springs.
Holy shit. That’s a nice looking sky. Bummer about the wallet. Hope you didn’t lose too much.
About three hundred bucks, two credit cards, my driver’s license, my PADI card and the entry card to our block of flats (not a biggie as there’s always loads of people going in and out). Quite WHY I was carrying my license and my PADI card, when I can’t use either of them in Kunming, I don’t know. Bit of a bummer that we didn’t have more cash at home — I’d taken a load out that morning on the basis that then we’d have 2000 yuan sitting around for emergencies. But, on the grand scheme of things, not a lot.
“Blue skies smiling at me,
Nothing but blue skies,
Do I see.”
Great song. Thought I’d sing it to you to cheer you up. Losing that much in your wallet sure is a bummer.
Thank you, Jim! Feeling quite cheery now that money is arriving in China any day soon…
Yes, sorry about your wallet–that sucks. On the other hand–the photo is great.
Better luck to you.
Nancy
I’ve finally got everything back and a new wallet, so all is good in my world. Thanks for the wishes…
